Nineteen Eighty-Four is a classic dystopian novel by English author George Orwell. The story follows the life of one seemingly insignificant man, Winston Smith, a civil servant assigned the task of falsifying records and political literature, thus effectively perpetuating propaganda, who grows disillusioned with his meager existence and so begins a rebellion against the system.

"All men are not created equal. It is the purpose of the Government to make them so." This is the premise of the Showtime film adaption of Kurt Vonnegut's futuristic short story Harrison Bergeron. The movie centers around a young man (Harrison) who is smarter than his peers, and is not affected by the usual "Handicapping" which is used to train all Americans so everyone is of equal intelligence.

AngryHateMusic | The individuals participating in the gang that calls itself Government attempt to hold a coercive monopoly over every aspect of trade and commerce. If we choose not to participate, which is effectively canceling our subscription to their crappy services, we can return to providing acceptable alternatives.

OTN | How free is the press today, and what did the founders intend? Come along with OTN on location at the Executive House and see how police respond to a film crew not approved by the state.

LarkenRose.com | Despite all the lovey-dovey rhetoric about the supposed greatness of "democracy," there's only one thing its proponents want it for: to get moral permission to force their preferences, opinions and ideas on other people. People vote, hoping "their guy" will win. Why? So their own interests and agenda, and NOT the interests and agenda of the people who voted for "the other guy," will be served by the machine of "government." And everything "government" does, it does by threat of force. (It doesn't just ask nicely; it commands, and inflicts harm on any who don't obey.)
