SwiftKickOnline.com | Erica Goldson graduated as valedictorian of Coxsackie-Athens High School. Instead of using her graduation speech to celebrate the triumph of her victory, the school, and the teachers that made it happen, she channeled her inner Ivan Illich and de-constructed the logic of a valedictorian and the whole educational system.
C4SS.org | This lame response is in no way limited to Nazis. In fact, it’s a typical bureaucratic excuse from every government agent on earth when the inevitable abuses and horrors of such backward institutions are exposed. It’s as if the simple invocation of “I have my orders” somehow magically absolves any bureaucrat who acts on such edicts from any and all forms of independent moral judgment. The bureaucrat, earning his or her tax-funded paycheck, is permitted — nay, expected — to behave like a wind-up toy, a pre-programmed robot incapable of any deviation from his or her master’s directions. And at the end of the day, when natural rights are violated, when real human beings end up deprived of their property and/or hurled into cages, when live people end up dead — every bureaucrat pleads “helpless automaton.”
LibertyOnTour | It amazes me that handing out educational material can land you in a cage. Is this not the year 2010? Doesn't everyone know that education is a great thing? How do those employed by the DHS continue to arrest Julian for such an honorable act? Do they not realize that they are going against just about every oath they swore to uphold? I bet they would think differently if they ever found themselves in front of a jury.

The criminal activity that required four police officers to show up on scene was Gurrieri smoking a hand rolled cigarette, a new trend amongst the youth who are looking for cheaper and a more natural alternative to the highly taxed and contaminated cigarettes on the market, in which the cops mistook for a marijuana joint. After a confrontation that included a long lecture involving the reasons why the police deemed Gurrieri as a threatening figure and how he should always bow to his masters, he was released.
