| Compassion is easy when you don’t need to worry about pesky concepts like “consent.” I mean, if I really want to be compassionate, I can always just mug some rich guy and give the proceeds to a local homeless shelter. It’s funny how so many people equate taxation with charity; as if having your property rights violated by being forced to give up your money is somehow compassionate. What part of taxation makes it a sincere form of generosity? I mean, it’s not like you have a choice to pay taxes.
