‘Legitimate taxation’ is a contradiction. I don’t care who was elected, ‘duly appointed,’ or what magic rituals or pieces of parchment someone has. What I acquire through voluntary exchange belongs to me, and if everyone else on the planet decides to take it, it’s still immoral and illegitimate.
