Today in 2011, many religious individuals beleive this day to be the end of the world. |
Do not ever say that the desire to “do good” by force is a good motive. Neither power-lust nor stupidity are good motives.

DailyAnarchist.com | I have a fundamental objection to the prison system that I rarely hear raised. Why does a man who steals a loaf of bread lose his freedom of speech? Why does a woman who vandalizes a car lose the freedom to associate with her children? These questions are a challenge to those who view rights as social constructs as well as those who believe they are inalienable. Stated in more general terms, how is it that aggressors lose virtually all freedom because of what might be a minor transgression?... - [More]

Voluntaryist.com | To speak the truth without fear is the only resistance I am bound to display. Mid-2004 interview with Marc Stevens, author of “Adventures in Legal Land“, and host of “The No State Project” (a weekly radio show discussing news and issues related to the law, courts, and personal liberty, with a particular interest in considering free-market alternatives to government-provided services). Marc’s perspective is that the very concept of government is based on numerous dishonest and misleading labels and presumptions that amount to a complex public relations scheme.... - [More]

LittleAlexInWonderland | Spc. Manning was “turned in late last month by a former computer hacker with whom he spoke online” to whom he “boasted of giving classified U.S. combat video and hundreds of thousands of classified State Department records to whistleblower site Wikileaks”, they report. One of the videos reportedly leaked by him was the 2007 video of what’s been dubbed as the “West Baghdad Massacre”, where well over a dozen civilians—including a Reuters photojournalist—were gunned down from a helicopter, firing “indiscriminately”. Wikileaks released the video in April, under the title, Collateral Murder.... - [More]

SzandorBlestman | In their courtrooms, judges have always been the top dog. They still demand obedience from all who pass through the door into the their “court of law.” To this very day people are expected to be reverent when attending court. To this day they are asked to stand when the judge enters the courtroom and address him as “your honor” when speaking, creating in him an aura of superiority and perhaps even piety toward the law. After all, not only does he command the respect and unquestioning support of men with guns, he is the final arbiter of the law while one stands accused before him. That is, of course, unless one has the financial wherewithal to afford an appeal should one be necessary, or worthwhile. The claim is there is equal justice for all available to Americans, yet a railroaded poor man will sit in a prison cell while a wealthier man can spend his wealth to try to keep what freedom he has. The judges don’t care. They owe their fealty to the mechanism of the state, and they feel you owe your fealty and your worship to them.... - [More]

CopBlock.org | police who break the law are often protected by their investigation process. A normal person who is seen breaking a law would be arrested, booked, given an arraignment date, and given a trial. He or she might even spend time time in jail. With cops, none of this will happen unless other police officers who conduct an “internal investigation” decide it’s appropriate. Without the go ahead from the offending officer’s co-workers, there will probably be no arrest, no booking process, no arraignment, no judge, no jury, and no justice.... - [More]
